Home decor is always changing and evolving with new trends and even bringing back old trends again. However, there are some trends that need to just stay in the past and for good reason! Let’s take a stroll down memory lane and look at some trends we don’t want to repeat!
Tile Counter-tops were all the rage in the 1970’s, but were hard to keep clean. Granite and marble make such better options nowadays.
Shag carpet, although comfy to walk on, is outdated compared to the current modern hard flooring and low pile carpets. Shag carpet is also harder to clean, as it is harder on your vacuum and a trap for allergens.
Wood paneling not only makes a room look outdated, but it makes the room appear dark and dreary.
Wallpaper borders, whether they’re placed in the middle of the wall or just below the ceiling, this trend should just stay in the 90’s. Wallpaper options are really beautiful in this day and age, and really on trend, the borders not so much.
Glass blocks were initially used as a light source for showers and bathrooms, now they are just outdated as the new trend is to have skylights and creative glass design. There’s just better, prettier options now.
Popcorn ceiling is another trend that needs to just stay in the past, can we agree on that?
What’s one trend that you never want to see again?
